Social Logo Fonts and Colours

Following is a brief(ish) log of some of the most popular (how did MySpace get here??) social sites, with their logo font and hex code information.

Font
Klavika Bold

Klavika Bold isn’t really the font used for the facebook logo, though it is however about as close as you are going to get. The actual logo/font was a designed by¬† Joe Kral and there are subtle differences between Klavika and the above logo, but only the keenest of eyes will spot them.

To get the above look you will need to reduce the tracking of your ‘Skype logo’ text to about -100 or -110.

LinkedIn

Hex codes

Font
Myriad Pro Bold

I’m actually quite a big fan of the simple look of the ‘in’ that is used in most cases as a social button, now that you ask…

Pico Alphabet

Again, Pico is not the exact font that twitter have used, though it IS the closest (and free-ist) font there is. The major difference is in the ‘e’ which you will notice when you see the Pico font for yourself.

Occasionally you will see the extra legend ‘broadcast yourself’ next to the main YouTube logo, which uses the font Helvetica Neue 55 Roman.

myspace

The more eagle-eyed among you may notice that this is the old branding for myspace, and that they have had significant changes made. But let’s be honest, who cares, it’s myspace! This one is more for those with a nostalgia itch they want scratched. Off.

And that’s it!

If there are any more you are after that you think I have missed, let me know and I will stick’em on the end of this post (if they are social sites). Any others and I will plan a future post for them.

Cheers a very lot,

CCx
